RELATED: When does Season 3 release The Boys on Prime Video Hughie joins the team after his girlfriend Robin is accidentally killed by the A-Train, a member of the Super Speed Seven, but is unaware of the boys’ use of Compound V.
Compound V gives The Boys superhuman abilities to give them a fighting chance even against the Seven, a dark parody of the Justice League made up of the most powerful Supes around. Billy Butcher, founder of the team, injects each member with Complex V, the drug responsible for creating Supes. Instead of relying solely on carefully considered weapons and strategies, the boys strengthen themselves to be able to take on the Supes in hand-to-hand combat. In the original comics of Garth Ennis, Hughie and The Boys have an entirely different strategy.
